Three Conditioning Tips for Tennis Players

Dermatologist Dr. Steven Victor owns and operates ReGen Medical PC in New York City, which offers a range of dermatological treatments and procedures. Away from his professional duties, he can often be found playing tennis. Dr. Steven Victor enjoys playing twice weekly at the Vanderbilt Tennis Club.

Even the most seasoned tennis player can improve his or her game through conditioning and strength training. If you would like to improve your range of motion, footwork, speed, and power, consider the following training tips.

-Train on your feet. Tennis is played in a standing position, so training should be completed in the same position. Consider standing bodyweight exercises such as squats and lunges.

-Begin with bodyweight exercises, and advance to free weights. Mastering bodyweight exercises improves stabilization, and adding weight will increase the impact. Avoid strength training machines, as these control the range of motion for you.

-Practice explosive movements. Tennis is about moving very quickly, sometimes from a standstill. Try squat jumps, side-to-side jumps, and other sudden motions very quickly, while focusing on form.

Victor Dermatology and Rejuvenation - Sterile, Effective Ear Piercings

A well-established Manhattan dermatologist who offers leading edge treatment, Dr. Steven Victor guides Victor Dermatology and Rejuvenation. Dr. Steven Victor has extensive experience in piercing ears, and also undertakes ear repair for those living with unwanted piercings

His piercing process employs a piercing instrument that features a new sterile needle. With the starter earring set at the end, the entire piercing is completed in a single seamless operation. A key advantage of having the piercing handled in this manner is that infection is much less likely at the outset.

After-care is an essential part of the ear healing process, with Steven Victor, MD, recommending that patients keep their piercings clean. This is typically accomplished by swabbing both sides of each ear with cotton that has been soaked in hydrogen peroxide. Antibiotic skin care lotions can also be applied in situations where redness or itching is experienced. Should the infection worsen and significant fluid drainage occur, a physician should be contacted to determine appropriate treatment pathways.

A ReGenerative Medicine Approach to Improving Skin Lesions

Dr. Steven Victor is a respected New York dermatologist who guides Victor Dermatology and Rejuvenation and provides care for a variety of conditions. Offering a full scope of aesthetic laser surgery solutions, Dr. Steven Victor is the founder of IntelliCell BioSciences, Inc., and he performs ReGenerative medicine.

Steven Victor, MD, has pioneered a patented technique that isolates stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells, which have reparative qualities. He employs autologous cell product (cells taken from the patient) and isolates the SVF cells, which include a combination of stem cells and growth factors. The fat that has been harvested from the hips or abdomen is returned to the body in a gentle, minimally invasive way in areas that are experiencing sagging, wrinkling, and pore issues.

The result of the comprehensive, superficial injections is that areas treated experience rejuvenation. While some progress occurs in the first two weeks, the cells continue to encourage regeneration over a period of months, which achieves long term easing of wrinkles and acnes scars, as well as adds desired volume.
